Hey everyone, My name is Kimara wood. I recently just bought a baby Argentine Tegu about two weeks ago and its already been an adventure. Im every excited to finally own one of these cool lizards as I've been saving up and building an enclosure for over 3 months now (been doing research and watching informative videos for almost a year)! I've also been peeping the tegutalk forums wishing I could one day, be part of the chatter! Well today is that day!! alright enough about me let's talk tegu. My Argentine Tegu's name is Titan/Athena. He/She is approx. 16 inches from snout to tip of tail. I don't have a weight scale so i don't know how many grams he/she weighs. I received her from a very reputable pet shop in Plano, Tx called DFW Reptarium! everyone who works there is very friendly and knows there stuff. (none of that Petco/Petsmart bull) Now when I first laid eyes on Titan/Athena, it was lively, looked very healthy, and had voracious feeding response to my fingers I pointed at it through the glass. I thought there was nothing wrong with it. To my surprise the manager informed me that that she had a broken foreleg (that was already bonded to a splint). The Tegu seemed to fine regardless as it was using the broken leg to effortlessly dig. (fast forward two weeks) the cast is off but you can still tell it was broken cause it's gait isn't as smooth as i've seen on other tegu's. Well that should be a a good introduction. I will post pics, vids, and updates when I can. Hope you guys are nice and can give me some helpful advice!
