its a caiman lizard, and it is a teid, but not a tupinambis its a draceana guianensis they get about four feet and love to eat snails.

Yep. They are hard to maintain in captivity and very few keep them. Shame, they're a gorgeous species.

Who even sells this type of lizard? Is it something that permits are needed for? Looks pretty cool though.

It is said they only eat a few types of snails in the wild. They also do not do well as captives.

I've seen quite a few lately on KS and man are they expensive.

I agree I think they are awesome, but they are not known to thrive in captivity.
