Teju is tegu in MANY languages, and Shaylah's right. Synthetic looks just as good and has many more possibilities. It annoys me to no end, that the animal is threatened but the government actually AIDS the export business of their skin.. Umm anyone else's brain just go "WTF?" It's called logic and apparently it doesn't exist down there. South America needs to just stick to cocaine and stop exporting animal skins.

(btw - I don't condone drug smuggling, that is what we call a "joke")

I have been to south america a few times and the poverty rate of the population together with the corruption certainly adds to this problem.
Its not just their problem, its our problem too.
With us having all the wealth in the world and willing to buy their timber and hides and not giving thier economy a chance to grow in a decent way we are certainly part if not the main problem.
