I know alot is not known about these lil guys yet , but I went ahead and acquired 1 and named her mercury. in my opinion they are like little tegus are monitors. steppe runners have that tegu head and they have forked tongues. i have her in a 55 gallon tank with 4inches of washed playsand. her basking area gets about 100 on the high end with sometimes a dip in the mid 90's. on the cool side i keep it about 75-85. they require hides and love to dig tunnels. right now she is eat dubias and repti worms.these guys do not like to climb. while she is quit skiddish im letting her get use to her surroundings and hopefully she will start to get used to me since i do have the food lol
