It's a pretty common thing, they tend to sneeze often. I think it may have to do with burrowing...maybe getting some soot in their nostrils? Upper respiratory's are few and far between with tegus but just keep a watchful eye just in case.
Also, when tegus drink, they frequently get water in their nasal passage. This induces sneezing as much as anything else...the first time I saw it, I thought that it was mucus, but then I realized my tegu had just hopped out of her water bowl.
Also, what are you feeding your tegu? If it is a really wet food, it might be getting in his/her nose even more than others do....they aren't exactly the neatest of eaters
