Hi! I’m new to tegu keeping and i’ve done the loads of research before getting my new tegu, but now that i have her, it’s honestly really nerve racking and i seem to forget everything that i researched. I’ve had her for about a week and i have her in a front opening enclosure. I went to go pick up some of her waste and she ran at me, so i then put my hand in a fist so she wouldn’t think i’m food. She licked my hand and scented me and then bit me. I’ve had a sweater in her enclosure since the day i got her, as well as a t shirt later. I know i didn’t have food scent on me. So i tried to feed her and it seems she just gets defensive whenever my hand is in there.
