If I bought a bearded dragon what are the proper steps to quarantine it so I know it is safe to put in the same room as my tegu?

Spray him with prevent-a-mite and get a fecal. Honestly though, CB animals usually don't have parasites unless they've been kept in really horrible conditions next to a lot of wild caught animals.

There are certain animals that are known to come in with a lot of parasites when they're imported. Bearded dragons are from Australia, and therefore not imported.

Others might disagree, but I really wouldn't worry about it.
