hi i am setting up an argentine tegu cage and was wondering which mercury vapor bulb will provide enough heat and light to be used by itself. also which food is the best tegu bites by naturezone, zupreem tegu diet, or zoo med tegu diet.

I have always liked the zoomed power suns and alot of people on here like them as well from what i have read. i use one on each 40g breeder that house my babies and with the right adjustment my all around temps are good. as for canned foods never used them with any reptile i have ever had. i just feed them my gutloaded crickets and other insects, whole prey items and if the will take them fruits and ground turkey and beef/chicken liver. and always a good multivitamin and calcium powder.

The T-Rex Active UV Heat is the same as the Mega-Ray and is a better bulb than the Zoo-Med.

Anything from a can is crap. Whole prey is best.

yeah live or fresh kill is best. Canned crap is not any good for anything. Can we survive on Canned Chef Boyardee? No although the stuff is awesome. always fresh is my recomendation

Welcome to the Tegutalk community!! :)

I take it the hight is 17.5? If so a 100 watt Powersun will work, just put it on one end and let the other end be cool with a hide.
