Flame Room

I used to run a few game forums, and the one thing that kept people's disagreements and issues away was a flame room. I locked it for members only, and put a warning that you had to be 18 and foul language among adult content was in there. Of course no nudity, but I used to have members go in there to discuss their problems. I got tired of playing Hillary Clinton and the Parental Advisory Board, so if I needed to I could move topics there, but usually if people had issues, they would go in there. I agree with the idea that this should be an all ages forum, but reallistically, in my opinion, if you haven't heard a bad word or two, you're not really old enough for a 5 foot lizard. Either way, it keeps the good in the forum threads, and the bad in an enclosed area. My 2 cents.

I've seen some forums that had an "Adult" section. Most times it was hidden and you had to ask for access. I doubt that will fly here. But it might be appropriate to exchange crude humor!!!

Flaming and arguments are not needed. I will not create a room so people can attack each other, if they cannot show self-control and treat each other with respect, they will be on the outside looking in. I see no need for an adult room; children are welcome on this site. Is crude humor allow by PM?? I'm assuming that because it's a private conversation it shouldn't affect anyone but the recipient.

On the other hand, if it is unsolicited it would be considered offensive.

I (and a few others) got in trouble in "that other tegu forum" by asking people to join this forum by PM. Someone took offense and reported it.

I can see where someone might get upset at some ideas/opinions stated on here but that is no need to flame or bash a person for it. In many cases using fowl language and themed threads doesn't constitute an "adult" mindset IMO

That's exactly the response I expected. A Flame Room would serve a purpose of a place, for adults to talk. Generally that's what saturated the posts, just an area for adults to talk. The issues are still there apparently, you just can't say crap if you had a mouthful. There's no need for an archaeic dismissal in sarcastic banter. "In case you missed it", was an unnecessary statement, and a simple "I just want to keep this forum for children." would have sufficed. I am a little purturbed by your hostility towards me Bobby? Was it deserved in something? Too bad I can't discuss it.

Yea, that is your opinion, and you are welcome to it, however, acting out is just not needed here. There are plenty of sites that you would be more than happy if you feel the need to express yourself in that manner, just keep it out of here.

As for Dave, you know what is right and wrong. As long as you show respect to others everything else will fall into place.

You have started threads with strippers, race, attacking my staff and just down right giving poor advice. You came in our chat, talked about porn, tried to start discussions on illegal drugs, and just being disrespectful to respected members there and here.

Now you are asking for a place to start crap, we know this would bleed over to the rest of the site, we all have seen it too many times on other sites. Well, it is not going to fly here, that is the bottom line

I think I pretty well summed it up in the post above, it is not about being hostile, it's about the rules. It seems to me you are trying to get around them, just like starting this thread. You knew what the rules were (No Flaming), but then came here and requested a place to flame. Need I say more?

1. I do not recall saying anything about strippers? What would I say about strippers? I don't even go to strip clubs.

2. That "race" discussion was a mutual ignorance on YOUR side as well as mine. I didn't say anything offensive to ANY races. You brought up the issue of race. I'm sure plenty would agree with me if they ever got a chance to see what the issue was.

3. What staff? I got upset with RehabRalphy, but the issue was solved quickly and painlessly, and now I quite enjoy his conversation.

4. Porn? When have I said anything about porn? Where are you getting this stuff? Or are you or someone else logging in as me in the chat? I don't even watch porn.

5. Illegal drugs? I said nothing about "illegal" drugs. I spoke to Dicy about foreign drug policy in his country, and I admitted to being diagnosed with anxiety, in which a legal doctor has prescribed me cannabis, a proven treatment for cancer pain/malnutrition, anxiety disorders, and other purposes. I realize that in particular states, this is considerred a crime, but until you watch a family member dying, and that "drug" helps him get though the pain, go ahead and call us criminals. And what a hypocrisy we have! We have a member with "Alcohol is the start of evil (or something to that effect) and herb is the healing?" Haven't seen any public attacks on that?

6. (Added in Edit) Don't preach to me about discussing "legal" drugs, when you've discussed and encouraged the illegal trafficking of Cites listed animals. Who's the interpol felon now?


I'm not sure who you think I have disrespected. I respect everyone in here. There is no member of this forum that I don't respect. All have proven themselves as good reptile keepers, and good people in general. greentriple, PuffDragon, DaveDragon, RehabRalphy, Mike, AB^, Cowher, Olympus, and I've missed a few of you, I'm sorry I'm just a little annoyed and having trouble thinking of everyone. These are all people I respect. Who thinks I have disrespected them? I will apologize immediately to them.

I will not get into a long debate with you or make you feel like trolling needs to be explained. You are looking for a conflict, thus the reason for this thread; instead you are going to find yourself on the outside looking in.
