Feeding Hatchlings

Hey guys, I have a couple of question about feeding a hatchling. First, how long are they carnivorous for before they'll start accepting fruit/greens. Secondly, do I want all of their food to be dead? I have my own superworm culture so I have lots of those, but would I have to kill them before feeding them to my tegu?

Oh and heres the reason for culturing my own superworms! They chow them down! (salamanders help too!)

I can only speak from my experience from my hatchlings but mine was eating crickets and pinkys and some ground turkey from time to time but not always.

I stopped feeding fruit long ago, it really has nothing they really need in it. Also some of them will not eat it regardless of what you do.

I feed my hatchlings live prey, crickets, mealworms, and roaches. I also feed ground turkey, ground liver, ground fish, FT pinkies and soft boiled eggs (3 minutes). I do start feeding them Super worms at about two - three weeks old too.

Cool, thanks. I have tons of superworms and frozen pinkies so I should be all set! Thanks again.
