Hey guys, Im going to be making an order for feeders within the next few days. I think I asked before but never got an answer. I was wondering what the most nutritious feeder was from the following list, and the least nutritous.

Rats
Mice
Chicks
quail

It's all subjective. It also depends on how well you feed them, but for the most part Rats and Chicks are the best.

Rats and chicks are pretty much equal in all nutritional values except for protein. In the case of protein, chicks are always higher in content. Depending on the size of the bird it will also be higher in Ca (calcium).

One good thing about chicks is that they are usually a lot cheaper to purchase than rats.

I've heard some people clip off the wings or feet of the birds, but they have a lot of bones in those parts (older chicks/quail). If the bird is big compare to the tegu, I will trim extra flight feathers from the wings.
