Hi guys. Long time reader, first time poster. I've had my Argentine B&W, Spock, for 6 years now. He's never had any health concerns and is a spoiled and well-mannered little ham. Anyways I left him with a friend for the weekend and my friend pulled off part of his shed, and I think a patch of the new layer of skin is damaged. I put some baby lotion on the area and it doesn't seem to be bothering him, but the color is definitely off. Do I need to worry about infection? Will it heal? Will the discoloration go away with the next shed? I can posts some pics in the morning. He's asleep right now and I don't want to wake him up.
