im going to start building a cage after christmas for my female extreme giant that would last her for ever. i was wondering, what am i looking at size wize? do i need the full 8x4x4? and does any one have any plans for a cage that they would be willing to post?

I'd say 8 x 4 would be a minimum size for a 5ft lizard. Bigger is always better, but not always practical. My 7ft x 3ft enclosures are great for 3.5 ft Blue Tegu's but wouldn't provide much room for a 5 footer to walk around.
