Looking female to me.
Easy. Even at hatching, males will have a small cluster of noticably large scales below on either side of the vent/cloaca. Those enlarged scales are associated with muscle attatcments to evert the hemipenes (penises) for mating. Takes some practice, but with that and good photos, it becomes easy. Thanks, that’s pretty exciting. It’s what we’re hoping. What makes you come to that conclusion?
Thank you! We have grown so attached to her in these few short months! And yes they grow extremely fast!Walter1 is a Tegu whisperer. I got my baby about 2 months ago - about that same size (she was 17ish inches). Now she's 24" only 2 months later. No joke. Yours is so cute! Good luck!
Omg how sad! I wanted a blue too! I like how much brighter they are.I know what you mean about growing that attachment. I lost a blue tegu after having her for about 3-4 months, and cried my eyes out. Felt ridiculous, then realized through this forum that it's completely typical. So I cried some more and got it all out.
