Male blue tegu arrives tomorrow from Ty. For those still looking he had 3 left when I was talking to him over the weekend and just ordered mine yesterday so 2 left now. I will post a few pics once I get him. Super excited to have another tegu. I have had a black & white and a red but not a blue yet.

Congrats I got one from Ty too last Friday. The one I got is vicious though. So I hope yours isn't as bad as mines.

So here he is, I'm thinking Colossus for a name. Was quite handleable after the long trip from Florida to Arizona. We will see how he is after a few days and he is settled in. Pics are just with my cell so they aren't the best.

I also just mixed up some ground turkey, finely grated carrots, lettuce, and calcium powder. He's so small at this point that I put them in an ice tray and will have perfect sized meals ready to thaw out daily.

Ferociouscorpion sorry to hear yours is vivacious. Hope it tames down for you. My old black and white was a little grumpy when I first got him. Then he was a baby in the end.

It looks awesome! Yeah its funny b/c everyone says that Colombians are bad my but golden tegu never ran at my hand to bite it. My blue one will do that. I just need to be more patient and work with him more. I can see the difference from when I got my golden tegu to how it is now so hopefully my blue will come around.

@Famous.b2te Congrats on your new baby blue! And as for the handling...let it settle in for a bit then start handling it...everyone's baby blues this year are very fussy well atleast everyone I know that's got one but hopefully they calm down with time and patience that's the key here lol

I only handled him for 5 minutes or so. I unpacked him and put him in a tub of water to rehydrate. He licked my hand a few times and then I put him in his cage. He explored for a little while and then burried down and slept the rest of the night. I left some food in with him for when he comes out. I am going to offer him some dubias when I get home from work today. With the long weekend I may try Sunday or Monday and see if he is still calm.

As for the name... my wife has now decided she wants his name to be Rango even though he is not a chameleon. I still prefer Colossus myself. What do you all think???

Well it's been a couple days. He has eaten some blue berries and ground turkey mix from tongs. He hasn't whipped or tried to bite yet. Actually he has walked up to the font of the cage and checked me out, even licked my hand a few times. I'm not pushing it yet but slowly presenting myself and showing I'm not a threat. Maybe after a few more days I will try and hold him and see how he does.

@Famous.b2te Looks Like you got lucky...all the other blues that everyone has are very skittish and territorial when inside the cage...but normal when out...which is not that bad...I been working with my little guy and he's getting better but right now at this point in time he still goes crazy

I've made a lot of progress with mine. The other day it bit my finger but softly and then now hasn't bitten me anymore. I can pick it up from its enclosure without him running around. Just a little bit if wiggling its tail. And once its out of the enclosure its like a whole different animal than in the enclosure. Its so calm out of there.

Mine hasn't bit or even tried yet and hopefully he doesn't. He is a little reluctant to come out but getting better. I can reach in and pet him and he just licks my hand. It's been 8 weeks and he is growing like crazy. His blues were showing pretty good the other day in the bathtub. Here's a few update pictures of him.

You guy is like mine. He is a bit reluctant to come out and doesnt mind me. I've been starting to lure him out onto my hands with food instead of grabbing him and I let him bask on my bed with a spare lamp that i have so that i can sit with him pet him etc.

I've noticed that all our babies have the same behaviors if not similar and Wapo sometimes gets very sort of startled when I'm gonna take him out but other then that he's awesome! If they're still a bit jumpy the more time you get to spend with them the better they'll be it's just all time and you guys are already doing great @dx2killa @Famous.b2te

Collosus hatched on 8/17 so he is about 8 1/2 months old now. He has calmed down nicely and already over 3 feet long. How are everyone else's blues from Ty doing?
