baby08 blk and white not well??

i recently purchased a 08 blk and white tegu(about 5 weeks) and when i first got it it was eating fine. it then started to go off its food,not completely as it will eat a small amount daily(superworms,turkey,pinkys) but i can tell its not right,it also has a slight gap between its upper and lower jaws.could this be MBD?? if so i dont understand as it has a 10% light(new one) plus regular supplements. also ive noticed a small scab under its chin and also a small 'lump'under its right eye.ive tried to get pics but cant get a decent one,sorry but ive tried and tried,just cant get one showing it good enough. it hasnt shed since i got it which concerns me as my adult used to shed constantly,could it be a retained full shed?its basking temp is 95-100,cool end 80 humidity should be fine as sprayed twice a day and it has a moist hide. im going to try get it to the vets tommorrow but i just thought if anyone had any ideas it may help as my vets arent really reptile ones and reptile specialist vets are a good few hours drive away from me. thanks for reading.Dan

Really, try your hardest to get pics. I recommend holding the tegu up in proper lighting and taking close-ups of each individual point that you are worried about.
After that, take a good reference pic with the tegu on you (if possible) so we can get a good idea of the scale of things....no pun intended.

hi yes it is a cb08 baby. im taking it to the vets tomorrow. will let you know how it goes. tried to take pics again and i just cant get any good,in focus ones!!!making me mad!!

Try stepping back with the camera and letting it focus. You can then use a picture editing program if you have one to zoom and single out the affected areas.

For example, my digital camera takes huge pics. When I put them onto my computer they're something like 1800x1500 pixels. Which would take up about 3 of my screens. Instead of resizing, I just crop what I need and the pic stays in focus and detailed. Maybe this would help?

update-been to vets today and luckily no abscesses etc in its mouth but the lump is causing it dis comfort as it was opening its mouth when touched. have got to give it anti biotics twice a day for next 10 days to see if it takes them down so fingers crossed.if not he'll be going back for further tests etc

What were you advised to give? baytril perhaps?

yes baytril. he's only 75gram so giving him 0.03ml,basically a drop twice a day. given him his first dose this morning....

update-the little one is looking better!!eyes are not as sunken and been eating bits on its own.has also started to shed so i think with its shed off and 5 more days of medication it'll be ok,fingers crossed!!!

ok great news. has had a full shed,has been eating bowls full of superworms,minced turkey and pink mice!!well happy!!!
