I know; I can't take him or I would. I dont have enough space for him and my tegu or I'd take him in a heart beat. I feel so bad for him and hope someone can take him ASAP who knows a thing or two about reptiles.

Perhaps the 10 gal is being given as a transport cage. I've seen many people include small tanks for that reason.
