Hi guys,

I've had my Tegu a week now and last night had a bit of an accident. The light burnt the plastic hide (a cat box) that i had been using for the Tegu. He was unharmed and i thought the light was far enough away so as not too get that hot but i was obviously wrong. I just want to know if the hide has to be under the warmest part of the Viv as this is what i was told. If this is the case I will make a wooden one today and if this is the case with some reptiles I know you should avoid certain woods, is this the case with Tegus?

Apart from that he's going great, he shed very well yesterday and he eats like a trooper. He really loves his scrambled eggs!

Mike
