I have to say, I love it a LOT more than coconut husk! And so does Siggy :mrgreen: . He's having so much fun burrowing right now and exploring.

Hmmmm... Im thinking a soil mix maybe.. something thats great for digging, but still, I know soils not going to be easy to get off of him when I take him out everyday :doh
BAAHhhh... I can't decide.
I've been using Coconut Husk, but it always seems to be dusty, even if I spray it once a day. It's coating my room in a brown dust, and my tegu sneezes from it every once and a while.
Otherwise it's really great and like it, but I think I want to change.
What do you use, and how do you feel...
Don't they keep saying that for all the lights? Seems like everytime I look up different lights there's a comment about their eyesight.
Is it because the red lights are on all the time? as apposed to timing "white ones" ??

I'd say it's a girl as well.
However I didn't know until my Tegu was 3ft long as well.
I was convinced he was a male, but everyone said he looked too much like a female... but that there was a very small chance he may still turn out to be male. Then one day I had "her" out to eat and when...
I'm not sure whether you feed eggs raw or cooked to ur lizard, I feed Siggy both, but If he eats raw egg, try dunking the mouse in egg and see if that helps... I think the egg is lless likely to be licked than chicken

Has anyone tried to litter-train their Tegu with a litterbox??
I want to do this with Siggy sometime, she knows where she use to poop so I think it would be easy for her. Has anyone actually done it?

Despite all the countless stories of bad tempered females... she is one of the best natured lizards I have ever met.... I was convinced she was a male.. lol :grno

She's only 3ft right now...has a little ways to go. I should find a shot of her draped over my shoulder, she's getting big... It's so crazy when you look at...
