You're welcome. It's just about getting what works best for them. Olive likes to go in the bath too sometimes but she prefers to use the litter tray. They catch on pretty quick that they don't have to go in their home if they don't have to!

I've almost managed to train my girl to use a cat litter tray. When I say almost, sometimes she will get caught short and go just before she can climb in! She absolutely refuses to go in her vivarium and only will if she has to.
I thought she might be ok with this as I started to realise she...
I've tried both techniques and find giving my girl space and time the most rewarding. She approaches me without fear and knows I'm a friend. We're both learning to interact with each other. I'd rather have a stress free tegu and a happy one :)

It's a support under stone steps so she could be trying to move them.. although she's pretty good at doing that with her face and body! :')

From what I can see she's absolutely fine, her mouth looks nice and healthy and her teeth too! She doesn't bite very hard, more of a scraping motion. She did it right after eating today too, she's definitely not hungry!
I do love her little quirks but I just hope she doesn't hurt herself...
My girl seems to have developed a fetish for chewing on some exposed bricks which she burrows under. She doesn't do it all the time but I catch her occasionally trying to have a nibble. Her diet is perfect, she eats fruit and veg and her food is always supplemented with either calcium or...
I can't believe there isn't a company that specialises in large enclosures outside of the UK. We're lucky to have pro vivariums who make lovely big ones at a reasonable price. It would have cost us much more to build one ourselves as fun as that would be. :(

I don't ever try to take my tegu out of her cage unless she wants to come out. Her cage is on the floor so I usually sit down, slide open the door and she will usually wander out in her own time. When it comes to picking her up I usually do that when she's out of her cage so she still associates...
At least they're not nipping at your toes with their teeth! I have a girl going through her toddler phase and boy can she be a meanie! Most of the time she's adorable though :)
