After owning reptiles since I was 8 I took in two rescue black and white Argentine tegus. My first is Patches, she came to me as a male, but I soon found out 'he' was a 'she'. She had no name when I got her and was very skittish at 2 years old and 3 feet in length. She has gotten much better and will now lay in my lap and sleep...sometimes...She still fights to be picked up most of the time, but calms quickly and is not aggressive.
My second is Ozai, a 1 year old rescue at 4 feet long and 10 pounds. I drove 400 miles to pick him up from a rescue home where his previous owner surrendered him. He is a sweetheart and doesn't mind being petted or held. Oz does have a tendency to want to bite on bare feet and legs when hungry, but I am working on that.
A little bit about me...I got my first two iguanas when I was 8 years old and raised them from babies. I was given another troublesome Ig from a friend who couldn't tame him. My 4th Iguana was and adult found in a park in December being smacked with a stick by some idiot.
I currently have two rescued bearded dragons. Izzy is the one with the stumpy tail and I got her when she was 3 years old and she is currently 11. Stella is 5 and I've had her for 3 years now as well.
