After careful consideration, and lots of helpful nominations, James.W and Rhetoricx were added to the TeguTalk Moderator Team today! Thanks guys for volunteering your time to help keep TeguTalk spam-free and family-friendly.
Along with our new mods, I'm also looking into a better spam filter for TeguTalk. Ideally our mods would only have to diffuse community problems or maybe technical questions. Ideally I'd have the spam situation automatically under control! I'm working on it.

Hi All,

I added a customized search box to the top and bottom of each page. The search box will show only pages listed on TeguTalk. It's a great way to quickly and easily search ALL our posts and threads instantly!
Test it out and let me know if you experience any bugs or anything. I will be working on the next phase of our 2011 Tegu Giveaway Contest so keep an eye out for that too!

I need for the members of tegutalk to come to myself(moderator) or josh(admin) if you have any sort of issue with another member, pm's to another member degrading them because of their lifestyle, religion, belief ect. This is it folks: The much much anticipated 2011 Tegu Talk and Varnyard Herps, Inc. TEGU GIVEAWAY CONTEST!! In this contest all members are encouraged to submit a photo of a tegu with a clever, funny, or interesting caption. After 3 weeks of submissions, we will all vote for our favorite photos and captions. You can vote based on funniness, how well it promotes Tegu Talk, creativity, etc. The photo with the most votes will receive a newly hatched 2011 argentine tegu from world famous Varnyard Herps Inc!!!
Members must be registered on or before the timestamp for the creation of this thread. Members can enter by posting their tegu photo in this thread.

Is everyone ready for the tegu give away contest? Thats right, TeguTalk.com and Varnyard Herps Inc. are going to give away a free tegu hatchling. The winner gets the choice of sex. The Argentine baby will be one straight out of my stock and a normal. I am looking for ideas for the contest, please no tegu photo contests as this should be open to people that don't have a tegu yet too.

Also you must be in the lower 48 states to enter, I will not ship out of the US on this contest.

I thought it'd be a good idea to hold a contest now that it's spring and people are a bit more active here on the site. I wanted to poll you, the members, to find out what kind of contests you might be interested in and what types of PRIZES you'd be interested in winning!
For contest types, there's always the solid tegu photo contest. Then we can do variations on that theme with funny tegu photos or something similar.
As for prizes, it's generally pretty easy to use gift certificates to give away from online retailers. Some people think these are boring though. I'm open to hearing what other types of prizes you all would like to win.
