Ive gotten a couple emails from fellow users asking for an update on the awesome tegu i won in the photo contest. Sorry it took me so long. Shes been sleeping for the past 6 days but came up today to bask and i got her to eat. She still is extremely scared of me and actually bit me really hard last week on my finger. I named her Spike.

 She's so cute,....Luv her pattern. I also like how they all show traits of each type of Gu differently. Pics aren't close up but I see more red and blue traits in her. One thing I've noticed is all of the extra spots and speckling they have. Especially on their limbs and tail from the red. Besides the speckles I don't see any other red traits on my boy Tricky. He looks more like a Blue Extreme hybrid to me.

I saw :-D that in the second and third pics. But I wasn't too sure if it was her actual color, the lighting or just the pics. But I can see a redish tent on her, she's definitely a looker and its only going to get better .

As for her biting,...if she's anything like my boy, you're in for a challenge.
like I've said before I have never been bitten so many times in my life by anything other than mosquitoes. He has finally come around, still has a bit of an attitude. Postures, huffs and puffs every once in a while but that's it. No more biting  :fc . It got to a point where I just stopped trying because nothing worked. He just became more aggressive no matter what I did.

Surprisingly my Colombian was easier to tame.

Wow she looks awsome :) . I can't wait until mine come out off hibernation. I'm glad that they are still going to be small when they come out. Wonder if Venus and Shakespeare are going to be that fisty like your alls Tegus are. I hope not lol. Thanks for posting the pictures ;) .

Bubblz Calhoun. Can you please post some new pictures of yours. Thanks.

Hi again everyone! Here's a quick picture update on the awesomely cute tegu i won from this site! Spike is doing great, shes doesn't try and bite me anymore. Not too keen on handling yet but at least shes out and about all the time now!
She tried to fight my camera so i didn't get a lot of good pictures. I hope you enjoy anyway.

Not really, when she was smaller there were some red specks on her back but they have faded away. Ill double check after her next shed but i thing the reds mostly if not all gone. she sure is jumpy like a red though.

Awww. She is so cute :) . It's nice to see that my Shakespeare and Venus are not the only one who are still kind of small. They hibernated for a long time when I first got them and they are hibernating again now. How long ( Snout to tail tip ) and how much does yours way now ( if you don't mind me asking ) ?

For the record, I dont think you are supposed to feed a tegu that is in hibernation. From what I remember it can be dangerous.
