Pedialyte in drinking water

The only time you should add it to drinking water is when the animal is in poor health and is dehydrated beyond what a simple drink and soak could fix up. You don't want to add it to everyday drinking water becuase it can lead to a sodium and eletrolyte imbalance if given too much.

For a sick animal that is midly dehydrated then 1 part pedialyte to 1 part water is best, for a serverly dehydrated animal a full strength amount should be used.
