So here's the story;
A friend of mine noticed a small stray puppy running around the countryside. It took some time but the puppy was finally caught and brought to my friend's house. She had to work today, and she asked me, my sister, and my best friend to see if we could do something with it since we're the 'animal people'. She is a chocolate colored lab/pointer looking dog with the most beautiful, expressive eyes. The poor thing was so underweight, lethargic, and afraid of people. Then we saw something that really worried us; bloody diarrhea. I started to really worry now because that could mean parvo. All the vets were closed, but a nice vet that I interned at went in on his day off and offered to test her for free. Sure enough, the poor pup is parvo positive, has whipworms, fleas, and ticks. He told us we had two options; treat her or she would have to be put to sleep because she would be suffering. We of course couldn't see such a young pup be put down, so we opted to do the treatment and gathered what money we had ($200) and the treatment was started. The vet is going to do what he can to lower the cost, but it will still be $500+. Donations would be GREATLY appreciated. Even if it's just a single dollar, or a prayer, anything will help! We still don't know if this puppy will survive, but our vet is doing his very best to see that he does.
Here is the Facebook page for the puppy, which we are calling 'Willow'.

I am still trying to figure out how donations can be made for those who don't live close to me (Kansas City, MO). Willow is being treated at Eagle Animal Hospital. I am currently trying to set up a paypal donation account when I figure that out...I'll let you know & send updates on the puppy! Thanks so much!
