Outdoor cage help

I was wondering if I could keep a tegu outside during the summer, like all day and night (if its not rainy or something) in a large cage that has spaces to escape the heat (of course i would bring the tegu inside too)
and if I can keep one outdoors all year (except for winter)

If you check out underground reptiles, they keep all their tegus outdoors and they live in florida. I plan on building an outdoor cage, but more for just a few hours of basking not a permanent style cage.
