New tegu owner. Hello!

Hello! My name is Natalie and I'm from Massachusetts. I got my tegu in mid October of last year, so I've had him for a little over 3 months. He is an argentine black and white named Ash. I am just guessing the gender at this point, but gender doesn't matter regardless. He was probably around 6 inches when I bought him and is now close to two feet. A tegu was my dream reptile, so I was very pleased when I finally got him! While I am new to having a tegu, I am not new to reptiles. I currently own 21 different pets which consists of snakes, frogs, lizards and a cat! Taking care of all of them is like a part time job, but I love it.

Ash is currently in a 75 gallon tank, but I will be upgrading him to the standard 8x4x4 as soon as I can. I am planning on building his new enclosure, but I am also going to look into purchasing one as a back up plan. My dad has a whole woodworking shop in his basement, so the goal is for me to design it and him to build it. A good father/daughter project.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and learning as much as I can from these forums.

Hi Natalie. Welcome to you and Ash. Beautiful- where'd Ash come from?

Custom-built is nearly always the best way to go from what others have experienced here.
