i bought an armadillo lizard today. i wish i had a camera right now but he's about 5 inches long and dark brown. almost like a smaller uro with the plates and armored spike tail. i read up on them before i bought him and apparently they are pretty rare on the pet trade and there's not too much info available. anyone else have one? it is really active and looks like it will be a pretty cool addition.

It depends what kind of armadillo lizard you have - C.cataphractus, the "true" armadillo lizard as they curl up into a ball when threatened, are very rare, and Im pretty certain that that isnt what you have (these are the kinds of beasties that are sold privately for many hundreds or even thousands of dollars for proven groups). C.tropidosternum/warreni/jonesii are much more common, and sell here for about Ã?Æ?Ã?â??Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?¡Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã?£20 ($35). All of them are livebearing and apparently adjust extremely well to captivity. Id really like to breed some of these one day, I think theyre very cute and livebearers always have great appeal! Good luck with them.

I saw an armidillo lizard for sale at petco and it was disturbing. Half of its plates were missing it looked so unhealthy. I wanted to buy it to save it but im scared it might be infected with parasites and I dont want my collection wiped out
