Can i use flexwatt in a wooden cage?

Definitely not in the cage, but you can use it under it. I like to leave a small air gap, apx 1/8 of an inch between the heat mat and the actual cage. This isn't really a must though. The only real must is to put it on a thermostat to control the temp. If not, it can get super hot, that's when you would start having problems.
