Frozen mice smell?

How are frozen mice suppose to smell? i just opened the package and it smells a bit funny not to bad but its just smells a bit funny and its kind of bloody?It kinds of smell like wet dog and now defrosted it does not smell should i be worried?

You are good ... They smell just fine to your Tegu.. If your Tegu dosn`t seem interested cut them open . They arn`t supposed to smell rotten ..

Thank,when it comes to feeding frozen thawed i'm not to experienced being im just switching over to them.She took it though i had also cut it open and it does not smell rotten.


ps.
I was feeding my ball python but still i cannot wait to get my tegu in the summer from varnyard.

My mistake I need to watch that better ... Glad he took it tho .. Frozen is sure handy if your critter will take them ...

I buy frozen mice in bulk and have never noticed any "funny" nor "wet dog" smell. Though I use hairless mice which may be a critical difference.

Any odor would cause some concern, but provided the thawed item did not smell rotten in any way, I would likely still use it.
