Feeding basil to red tegu

I have a red tegu and I'm trying to find out if it's ok to feed her basil. I can't find any food lists that mention it. My local grocery store sells organic, pesticide free basil plants and I was thinking of putting one in her enclosure once per week for her to munch on at her leisure.

But I'd like to know if that's good for her before going ahead.
