Enclosure temps

Ok so I know what everyone says the temps are supposed to be for your Tegu but I find it just about IMPOSSIBLE to hit... I got the 115 degree bask spot via one 250w infared bulb in a deep dome and a 125w broding bulb in a deep dome. That puts my air temp on that side around 104. Keep in mind this is an enclosure that is over 10 ft long... My cool side which has a 4'X4' pond in it only drops to 85 degrees and even water temps are only slightly under 80 degrees. My humidity on the other hand is easily controllable with a timed fogger. How do you guys get hides in the low 70's? It sounds like a load of BS to me... hahaha

Hey Bean- I'm still up. The110-115F basking surface temp might be easier if surface is black and heat/light source is closer. Mid-upper 70s F good for hide in summer, lower in winter. Easy because you keep daylength shorter.

During "summer", hide might be cooler than expected with moist substrate in it.
