My colombian does the same thing. This morning when I woke up, he was out basking under his light, so I went downstairs to make him some food. When i came back, he disappeared... lol

Niles has been annoying me with this. He has created a wall along the underside of his basking shelf with just a small opening to come in and out. He comes out to bask and check for food...but normally if i open his door to hold him now he goes back in his hide.grrrr. i haven't held him in days and don't want to pull him out of burrow but what the heck! I need some cuddling!!!!! I really wish he'd come to me and want to be held instead of me having to pick him up, you know? I hear about others tegus coming out to them...grrrt
