My tegu has buried himself under the natural wood chips I have provided and that's where he still is from last night. Do they come out throughout the day...how do I know if it's brumation? Anyone plz help with some knowledge. Thanks in advance!

Is it normal for my tegu to burrow under the natural wood chips every night? Should he surface everyday or...? Was told he wasn't in the middle of brumation when I got him
