I'll contact the people asking for her, try to get pics of the enclosure and interview them over the phone as best i can. thanks for your concern, i want to make sure she goes to a great place, that part is more important than the cash.
Decided to part with my 1.5 year old Tegu, thought about it before, but my wife's fear of this thing is making the difference.
The Tegu is super sweet, never had any behavioral issues at all, eats great, and from what i can tell is perfectly healthy.
she is 34 inches long and beautiful...
I just went through a similar decision. I had a Beardie back when I was in College and was looking for something again. I went with the Tegu, but I have to admit, I had some buyers remorse initially as it became obviously quickly that the Tegu was going to require a bit more work and in...
I've been pretty lucky, Dejah doesn't seem to really care at all when I dig her out. since I have to do it every time she eats and most of the time she is rewarded with a bath, I think it is working ok. I just hate to have to do it every single day. maybe eventually she will hear me when I am...
no one has any thoughts? have any of you had to start digging your Tegu out of the ground in order to get any time with them? seems a harsh thing to do, but else I wouldn't ever have a chance for the little guy to get to trust me better, even though this could also go against it trusting me...
Ok, I'm actually getting lots of direct interest. I had posted this honestly to see if this was even an option, had no idea how quickly I could give away a Tegu. i'm impressed with this community here! I can't get a refund or cancel the custom cage, so I am going to wait till it shows up next...
my yearling (new to me) is awake and out and about from 9:30am till about 1:00pm, and that is it. So I have been pulling her out of her hiding place (just under the substrate) two or three times a day to be able to interact with her. She has never snapped at me or tail whipped me, I have just...
considering parting my 1 year old female B&W Tegu. Was my first Tegu and not sure it is the right lizard for my family. She is buried and sleeping most of the time, so we don't get to see much of her. I am considering a Bearded Dragon for that reason, I had one a while back. This girl is...
Thanks, glad to hear. I am having a large enclosure made as well, but for the first 2 weeks, I have to make a 40 gallon breeder work. so far, I am not getting it hot enough, so I think I need to buy a nice rick and build it up closer to the heat source.
My first Tegu will be arriving next Tuesday, a yearling female from Johny at TeguTerra.com. I'll post pics here once she shows up. I'll be browsing around looking for taming tips, but this one is supposed to be reasonably tame to begin with.
Thanks everyone, chat with you soon!
