I have a curiosity question more than anything else. Right now i have to repti-glow uvb lamps lighting my tegus 6x3x3 cage i just built for him. And im curious if there are any florescent bulbs out there would work for UVB other than the ones made for reptiles. IMO it just seems overly expensive for a bulb just because it is marketed as a specialty product. I know my old salt water aquarium that had living coral in it had natural sun light lamps in it and the bulbs only cost about 9 bucks for 18". Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this idea and thought of a cheaper alternative.
No rush, just curious, Monty is enjoying the cage and the bulbs for now so he is happy.
thanks guys
