Alright I posted some pics of my enclosure I just finished earlier. So after a couple weeks now I am still trying to get everything just right.
My basking spot has different zones ranging from 105-118 mostly its about 110 though in the main section. So I feel pretty good about that currently with his size.
My warm side though is usually only about 75 deg though with the pieces of rock and cork I have over there getting close to 80. That is when I use a temp gun to check temps. I dont have a thermometer just reading ambient temps.
The cool side is around 70 deg always. Sometimes I get spots that are a bit warmer or a bit cooler but not much movement over there.
So overall the temp of the substrate when measured with a temp gun is pretty consistent through out the cage. I feel like I need it to be a bit higher.
It sits around 80% humidity during the day and gets up to 90% during the night.
So in the pictures you can see where my lights are. I have another light fixture above the water tub. I was thinking I could move the water tub and put a ceramic heat emitter up there so the middle section of the cage gets some heat to go both directions.
I think CHE's radiate heat straight down though not to the surrounding area correct? So I would need to move the water or it would end up super heating the water I imagine.
My other option would be to change the middle fixture to the same one I have on the basking side. So I can have 2 more lamps in there. Then I could aim them as well. Which if I did that I was thinking I could put 2 smaller CHE's in there and aim one at the warm side and one at the cool side to give a little supplemental heat to both sides.
I have winter coming soon to Utah so I am mainly thinking CHE's because I can run them at night and keep the temps from getting too low during the nights.
What do yall think??
