The Foot Hunter

My boyfriend and I have recently adopted a B+W Argentine. She is in great overall health and eats like a champ. We have started gaining her trust slowly but we have a growing problem. She wants to eat us. She hunts our feet if we let her free roam. We want to keep her but if she continues to bite us we have to consider finding her a new home.

It has gotten to the point that we can't handle her because she tries to bite other parts of our bodies like last night she bit my stomach!

We are willing to put in the work to try and curb the problem but we really have no idea how to stop her from biting.

Thanks in advance.

How big is she? What are you feeding her and how often? In my experience, they are much less likely to bite (or hunt feet) if they are completely full. It can be quite shocking sometimes to see how much food they can put down in one meal.

She's about three feet, we did try upping the amount of food we've been feeding her and it seemed to help. The guy we got her from said to watch out for over feeding though. Is this important? And how would I know if I am over feeding her?

Well whenever you let her walk around wear thick wool stocks or something so the bites don't hurt as much. Also try putting bitter and sour tasting things on your feet to discourage biting.

Turkey balls mixed with beef or tuna liver and cod oil. Sometimes I'll throw some fruit in with it and then an egg mixed with repti-cal (w/o D3) I think she gets in her "hunt" when we feed her the egg (day before or after before feeding turkey) So I am going to try upping her to two eggs.

Quartzyellowjacket I had thought about doing that, didn't think it would work but it is worth a shot for sure! Thanks!
