Tegus are my dream babies!

Hello everyone! I was planning on just lurking here, but I figured I may as well make an introduction post if anything. For many years now I've been positively enthralled with ball pythons and tegus, but I've been in a rut for as long as I can remember and I've never had the money to keep reptiles. I'm 20 years old and unable to work due to disability, so I have $0 to my name and thousands in medical debt unfortunately

Someday when I'm on my feet, whether that means getting financial aid for my disability or trying to push through it and start working, my first goal is to save up for a very spoiled ball python. Once I have confidence in my ability to keep reptiles (I've already kept a few through friends) along with confidence in my financial ability to keep one, I plan on having a very spoiled tegu as well!

For now I'll just have to live vicariously through the reptiles of others ;_; Not many of my friends share my affinity for reptiles, so it can get kinda lonesome for me... I thought joining this site would help quell my tegu obsession, and along the way I could learn more about proper husbandry and care for these precious buddies!

Welcome. You will find a lot of members here keep lots of reptile species. My husband and I have 3 beardies, 1 leopard gecko, 1 crested gecko, and an Argentine black and white Tegu. Everyone here I have talked with has been really nice and great about answering questions. I hope you can reach your goals of getting where you need to be to keep reptiles, but major kudos for making the responsible decision to not take on a pet until you can support it fully.
