taking tegu to the vet today

so today at 3 i have a dr. appt for tegu. i though he was trying to hibernate. i know its a weird time but i figured since he is an import he may be trying to. because their biological colcks are reversed being that they are from the south side of the equator. thats why you can get baby imports early in the year. but his appetite has not been there. he refuses food. so i though he was slowing down. but he has still been running around his cage digging and basking. its been about 5 or 6 days and he still comes out frequently. just does not eat. so therefore im afraid its parasites. i will keep you update.

Good call taking him to the vet though. A good round of antiparasitics will do him good. It always pays to be safe.

yea i have had him for about a month and have not had they money to take him. but i have it now. he was eating great and growing like crazy. he has grown at least an inch since i got him. and a piece of his tail was missing but about a quarter of an inch has already grown back. of course its ugle black cartlidge. but still. then all of the sudden he stopped eating. about every other day he would take a bite or 2 of turkey or eat 1 or 2 roahces. but thats it. also i dont believe he has pooped in a few days. i have not seen any. unless he did it in his burrow. i dont go into his burrow very much

Well good luck at the vet. Hopefully they're good with reptiles. Heaven knows the one's around my location aren't.

yes they are. ive taken my beardie there before for MBD treatment. they were very good and very helpful.
