I finally started an enclosure for my new tegu today! I haven't received a notice from Bobby Hill that mine was born yet, but seen that the b & w's were about to hatch. Anyway; I built an enclosure 48"L X 30"W X 24"T. My question is about the width. Is the extra width gonna buy me any time before a larger is required? I wanted to start with a full 8' X 4' X 3' enclosure from the start, but was concerned with stressing my new tegu! Also I put a 6 inch ledge along the bottom to hold the mulch in. Is that deep enough for a young tegu? I still need to purchase Dry-Lok sealer and tracts for the sliding glass doors; but I will post up pics when it is finished. Thanks for any advise in advance!

That should be a good size up until the tegu is about 2'(possibly up to2.5 but i wouldnt push it too long')6" will be plenty for a hatchling
