This video is so awesom, we get to see tegus behaving in wild. I have no idea what their saying, but from the looks of it, I'd say the tegus are probably swiming between islands to get at some yummy boobie's eggs. Big lizards in the wild sometimes do that, like komodo dragons, swim island to island in search of food. Truely amazing. :grno

Its a brazilian news channel so its portugese. I was looking forward to it being spanish so i can translate but no can do. As far as i understood since there is some spanish involved with portugese is the the tegu lizard is an overpopulating species and thats why that guy who catched them collects as many as possible and takes them to his tegu farm, which is the same guy with the breeding farm Bobby posted in another thread. They also said from what i understood is that they swim from small island to small island by brazil to look for all types of eggs from different birds to feed on which is why they showed all types of birds towards the ending and some of the rest i couldnt really understand.

The above video is awesome, embedded for ease of viewing:

I observe my tegu swimming underwater a lot in the bathtub, clearly deciding too, since there is a bath mat that I drape over the sloped end he can climb out on when he chooses. It makes good sense that they swim regularly in the wild if in proximity to water.
