Ok he got out of his smaller cage so i thought i should go ahead and move my columbian tegu (Vega) to his bigger cage(i know he'll still need a bigger one later) and im just wondering if the UV light is ok where i have it. Im going to be making a lid so all my lights can be attached to that but for now its hanging with wire hanger 'hooks' over the side. Ill post a pic but if hes say on his water bowl hes within 12" of the light..is that too close? The bulb is a reptisun 10.0. If hes not on the bowl its more like 14". My beardie has some eye issues and i believe its from bad info i got when he was young about where the light should be and i dont want that happening again.
This cage is 4'x1.5'x1.5'

That should be fine.. Just make sure he doesn't jump at it. O and just a quick input.. That screen between the basking bulb and the basking spot is reducing the effect of the mvb.. Assuming that the bulb is a mvb. Great enclosure overall.

Thanks for the reply. Theres actually no screen there and that bulb is actually just a regular light bulb.

Excellent. Whats your basking temp like with a regular bulb?... I'm guessing its not a halogen bulb, so it the ones that goes into lamps and things like that?...

I do have some halogen bulbs im going to be messing with to see how the temps are but as of right now its just a clear household 75watt bulb. The hottest spot in the dead center stays between 105 and 108(i use a pro exotics temp gun) As you can see from the pic ive got it raised up so i didnt have to use a higher watt bulb. Hopefully by next weekend my husband and i will have the lid built with the light fixtures on the inside so i wont have to use the clamp light and i can hang the UV right from there.
