Ok so I don't have my tegu or my cage built yet. I have a small terrarium set up for the little baby gu when I get him/her. I'm going to have the cage in my room, the thing is I live in my basement and I have a door that leads to my backyard in my room. The door is really bad and has small hole for things such as ants and spiders to get in through during the summer. I recently sprayed some bug and insect killer all around my room when I had ants coming in through my door and I found a couple brown recluses (at least that is what they looked like!) inside of my room. I also think my dog has fleas and they somehow managed to get into my room to because I just saw a small little bug jumping around on my that looked like a flea. All of these problems literally just started happening and I had no idea this would happen before I put the deposit down on my tegu, otherwise I would have fixed this first and then started getting ready to get a tegu. What I'm wondering is would it be harmful if I sprayed my room or bombed it for these things while I have my tegu? Obviously I would bring him/her out of their cage and all of the stuff inside of it while I sprayed or bombed my room. I would make sure to change out the substrate too. Would the chemicals stick inside of the cage and harm my tegu? Or could I just wipe it down and fill it with new substrate and put all of the inside back together? I'm asking this because I want to know if I can get away with not having to fix this door because during the winter I dont have this problem, and it would be expensive to have to fix this door when I still have to buy everything to custom build a cage for when it outgrows the terrarium. Any advice or tips would help, thanks.
