Baby tegu's are the best. I wish the kept their green longer. Nice setup by the way. Mind sharing the size of the enclosure, substrate, and temps of the basking spot?... Also what kind of bulb are you using it looks really bright?...

Yes Logie Bear, I did request a male. I actually asked bobby so many times to please make sure mine was a male that he probably wanted to hit me jk and i got him on the 2nd.

and to steven, the enclosure is a standard 40 gallon breeder tank 36Lx18Wx16H. The substrate I am using is just pure orchid bark from home depot. It was recommended by bobby on his care sheet and is apparently the exact same thing as reptibark, except instead of 10 dollars per bag it was 4. His basking spot fluctuates from 106-104, using a digital zoomed thermometer. I did my best to measure the temp of the cinder blocks surface temp by placing the prong on the concrete but i do not know how effective that is. I touched the cinder block and it doesnt seem to retain heat as well as some rocks do so I believe it is a good choice in not being too hot. Then again i could be wrong on either end of the spectrum too cold/too hot. the cold side is around 80 and as you can see i also have a hygrometer/thermometer in the middle which reads at about 85-90 degrees. The light I am using for his basking spot is a zoomed powersun 100 watt

Also, I was concerned about humidity levels so i lowered the thermometer/hygrometer to the very bottom of his substrate as to get a more accurate reading of where he is in the enclosure.

PS. it seems to work better than the ones from the store specifically for reptiles and only cost $2.36 at home depot. plus the temp guage seems to work well too.
