Hello!
Our family currently has a bearded dragon, an axolotl, and a pacman frog. I would love to get a black and white Argentine tegu (something I can call my own. So far, my husband and son have claimed all the others).
We breed our own Dubia roaches, and we have no issues with meeting all the requirements for reptile care. I have a few questions about living space for a tegu. I would want to get one as a baby. I know they wouldn't need a huge enclosure at first, so we would have time to build the adult one. How fast do they grow, and how large should we go when determining the final dimensions? Are they similar to a bearded dragon, in the sense that there should be a warmer side and a "slightly" cooler side? I know they climb. My husband is a woodworker on the side, so would building a climbing section be beneficial or a waste of space?
