My 6' long red tail boa found out he could fit underneath my 55gal aquarium stand. Needless to say I didn't think twice about it sinct the hole underneath it is about half his size. Anyway he has foud that he likes it under there and I can't really give him any water or anything under there and the tank weighs over 800lbs with the stand so moving it is not an option.

What can I do to make him want to come out from underneath that wont harm him?

Hes allready been under it for two days now.

Thanks, Cory

lol. Boas like doing that kind of thing. My big girl always tries to wedge herself into or under things. So far i've never has that much of a problem getting her out, though.

Hmm..... Well, the first thing that comes to mind is to lure him out with a rat. Of course, that could be risky. You know, put it up by thw opening until you get his attention, then move it back until he follows it all the way out.
Or if you can get a hand or something in there to touch him, you could just keep petting him, bothering him, and stuff. and eventually he might decide to crawl out. When i pet/touch my boa, it usually gets her moving a little. that's all i can think of... Unless you just want to wait for him to come out. Make sure the room is closed off so he can't get away when he comes out. At least you know where he is. A few days without water or heat definitely won't kill him.. And he'd come out looking for it if he needed to.

make a warm spot on the other end of the room with a hide, if luring with a rat doesn't work. I would try the rat first for sure.

my snake was missing for at least 3 months last summer. then one very late night everything was dark and quiet and suddenly I spotted him right next to where I keep my feeders.

well I hope hes not gone that long, however, this morning he had moved from his hiding spot and had knocked over the trash can in the bathroom. I have been looking for him for over an hour now and I now have my grandmas daushound back here, who come to find out is a natural when it comes to sniffing out snakes and we still can't find it. Could it have gone down the toilet? The lid was shut but I know pythons will do that but boas arent as apt to I thought. If this is so I feel terrible but in the mean time I will keep looking. Also my apt here is on septic... This sucks.

We lost a BP last week. Found a picture knocked off of a shelf 6.5 feet off the floor the next morning. That evening we found her cruising on the kitchen counter behind stuff. I've read many times they're found within 5 feet of their tank. She traveled 30 linear feet and who knows how many vertical feet!

keep a tank or something with whatever you feed him around or water. it may take a while. he will come to it eventually. mine was so much smaller then yours to find. I really hope you find him.

Oh thank god, I finally found him. I looked for 3 hours with my grandmas dog until it gave up lol and I was in the shop looking for my drain snake to see if I was going to pull the toilet or not and when I walked back in, he was right in the middle of the kitchen floor, looking at me like "what? I've been here the whole time" OMG! I was so frustrated and releived at the same time. I'm not going to let that scare happen again. But I still don't know where the hell it was at where me and the dog couldn't find it. Thanks for the tips guys and hopefully I won't have to make a post like this again. Whew! Lesson Learned.

I'm glad you found him!

How big is the dachshund, though? I don't know how bulky your boa is, but i'd imagine a 6 foot boa could harm a small dog. I know my 9-footer could definitely eat my chihuahua and harm(but probably not eat) my cockapoo.

The snake could easily devour the doggie but I was right there with it the whole time so I could have stopped any potential harm from happening to it. Even though I doubt the snake would have done anything to it, even though you never know about those things hahaha. That would have been hard to explain to poor Grandma.
