no monitors are good for handling and a 4 by 2.5 foot cage is too small for permenatent housing

get a blue tongue skink or a ball python!!!

I was gonna say get a blue tongue! You might be able to get one with a really cool pattern at a show too! I love blue tongues they have great little personalities and tame down really nice. Unless you want one of Dave's blues!!

a blue can live there for a long tme, but i dont think the rest of its life, i got one of daves blues but my plan is to build an outdoor enclosure for it when it gets older and bigger

but a nice 40g breeder tank size will hold a male ball python, full grown for the rest of its life, we have one in a 40g and hes happy

or you guys could get a bearded dragon, they are great family pets, eat well, they could live in that size enclosure for the rest of their lives if im not mistaken, and they love people (when tamed well and properly)

It might be good for 6 months to a year, but he would need a bigger enclosure eventually.

I think Tegu's have more "personality than a Bearded Dragon or Ball Python. We have a few of both, and I like them, but the Tegu's look like there's something inside unlike the blank stare of the others.

A friend of ours (breeds & sells Bearded Dragons) has said she will get us some place on a table, possibly half. The space with the Vet fell through, they never reserved the table. I'm going to bring 9 or 10 Blue Tegu hatchlings, the (3) Bearded Dragon's I bought for resale and possibly our 18 month old female B&W Tegu.

You could take a look at our BD's.
