Hi, yesterday I traded my bearded dragon for a tegu. I was originally seeking for a pair leopard geckos, but I can't turn down a carnivorous lizard. The lady I got her from said she's 1 1/2 years old. She seems a bit to small to be that old. Anyways, I was a bit scared myself when I got her, but she was fairly docile. I just can't get over the tongue she has. Reminds me of a snake haha. Right now she's hiding in her quarantine enclosure, which is just a big plastic tub modified to hold a mercury vapor bulb.

Yours is missing a piece of his tail, so keep that in mind when you are referencing lengths... it doesn't look like enough is gone to be a problem, but he will measure a few inches shorter than he 'should'.

Tegus born in the Northern Hemisphere ae born in (approx) July... Tegus born in the Southern Hemisphere are born in (approx) Jan... making 1.5 year old rounded off one way or the other...

Your Tegu looks to be about the same size mine was this time of year the year after he was born, leading me to believe yours may have been born summer 2010. I my assumption is accurate he will be growing like a darn week this summer.
