My Tegu Likes To Eat In The Dark + Enjoys Being Pet More

My Tegu eats a lot during the day but after a big meal or two meals, he has had enough. That is until I turn the light off and leave some fruit or egg in his enclosure, then he will start moving toward the dish, and eat the food on his plate. Is this a strange behavior for Tegus? I also notice he likes being pet more in the dark, he's overall tame although a bit moody at times, but never has problems when the light dims down.

Maybe he likes the mood set by the darkness like all players do. Are you bumpin' some slow jamz too? Al Greene or Isley Bros.? Lol!

Typical,.. sometimes with darkness comes security. Especially with a young tegu but having somebody stare at you for long periods of time can be unsettling for anyone or just about anything.
